Onuigbo Flags Off Tinubu 2027 Re-Election Campaign, Urges Supporters to Mobilise for Victory
Says Tinubu’s Reforms Have Laid Solid Foundation for Nigeria’s Growth, as Stakeholders Adopt President as Sole Candidate.
Former member of the House of Representatives and President of Globe Legislators International, Rt. Hon. Sir Sam Onuigbo, has formally flagged off his campaign for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging his supporters and APC stakeholders in Abia State to work for a massive victory for the President in the 2027 presidential election.
Onuigbo made the call during a stakeholders’ engagement at his country home in Odozi Obodo Hills, Obuohia Obi-Ibere, Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State.
He expressed appreciation to his supporters for their continued commitment, particularly during his previous senatorial campaigns, and urged them to deploy the same zeal and dedication toward securing President Tinubu’s re-election.
The former Rep Member for Ikwuano Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency, said the stakes were now higher, insisting that the reforms initiated by the Tinubu administration under the Renewed Hope Agenda required a second term for consolidation.
He cited the removal of fuel subsidy, reforms in the foreign exchange market, economic diversification, increased Federation Account allocations, improved crude oil production and refining capacity, as well as growth in the nation’s foreign reserves as some of the achievements of the administration.
According to him, FAAC allocations to the three tiers of government have risen from about 711 billion naira in 2023 to 4.5 trillion naira in 2026, while Nigeria’s refining capacity has increased from about 30,000 barrels per day to over 700,000 barrels per day.
Onuigbo also stated that crude oil production had risen above 1.73 million barrels per day, while foreign reserves had increased from 3.99 billion dollars in 2023 to 51.9 billion dollars in 2026.
The former federal lawmaker further pointed to what he described as increased foreign investors’ confidence in Nigeria, citing investments attracted to the country following reforms in the foreign exchange market.
Onuigbo also highlighted what he described as Tinubu’s commitment to inclusive governance in the Southeast, including the establishment of the South East Development Commission, appointments of service chiefs from the region, proposed rail connectivity between Enugu and Port Harcourt, the approval and ongoing construction of Abia Airport, expansion of the Enugu and Owerri airports, and the reconstruction of federal roads in the region.

He said he would continue to support the APC and promote good governance, stressing that the immediate political priority should be the re-election of President Tinubu and the growth of the party.
Onuigbo charged his supporters to bring the same zeal, loyalty and commitment with which they backed him in previous elections to the campaign for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, urging them to work for a decisive victory at the polls.
He urged stakeholders to remain committed to the campaign, saying Tinubu deserved a second term to consolidate the reforms of his administration.
