Don Media Group Celebrates Mayor Lucky Igbokwe at Birthday, Hails Legacy of Philanthropy, Media Excellence

Don Media Group (DMG) has paid glowing tribute to its Chairman and renowned philanthropist, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe, popularly known as Don Lulu, as he celebrates his birthday, describing him as a visionary leader, humanitarian and media trailblazer whose contributions continue to transform lives across Nigeria.

In a statement issued by the management of the organisation, DMG said Mayor Igbokwe has distinguished himself as one of Nigeria’s most impactful private-sector leaders, with influence spanning business, media, entertainment, politics and community development.

The organisation noted that through the Don Lulu Foundation, Igbokwe has positively impacted thousands of lives by providing scholarships, educational support, interest-free loans to traders and artisans, youth and women empowerment programmes, healthcare interventions, housing for the less privileged, rural electrification projects, classroom construction and other poverty alleviation initiatives.

DMG also highlighted his contributions to Nigeria’s entertainment industry through 2Flame Entertainment, where he has spent decades discovering, nurturing and promoting talented artistes while helping to project Nigerian music and culture to wider audiences.

According to the statement, Mayor Igbokwe’s passion for credible information and cultural preservation inspired the establishment of Don Media Group, owners of Don 103.7 FM and Ikoro 93.3 FM in Umuahia. The stations, it said, have become trusted platforms for news, quality entertainment, public enlightenment, youth development and the promotion of Igbo culture, while contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of Abia State and the South-East.

The management further described him as a passionate advocate for peace, youth empowerment and inclusive governance, noting that his recognition as a United Nations Mayor for Peace reflects his enduring commitment to peacebuilding, human capital development and selfless public service.

It added that Igbokwe’s investments in agriculture, construction, energy, media and community development have created employment opportunities and encouraged sustainable economic growth.
