Abia state Government has restated its determination to ensure equitable distribution of palliatives and intervention programmes of both the federal and State Government to Abia Citizens in general.

This was made known by the Special Adviser to Governor Alex Otti on Policies and Intervention, Rev. Fr. Christian Anokwuru when he featured as a guest on a special interview session on Family Love FM monitored by Dailytrailnews.

Rev. Father Anokwuru who was speaking on the sidelines of the distribution of Federal Government sponsored palliatives across the state which he said has recorded its fourth phase, maintained that alongside the efforts of the Federal Government to roll out different tranches of palliatives, the state government has also rolled out empowerment programmes to deserving Abians including farmers not excluding the efforts by the office of the First Lady to help indigent people in the state.

When asked on the Government’s plan to improve the fortunes of Civil Servants in the state especially with the recent request by the state Chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists that the Governor should consider reducing working days of workers owing to the increase in the cost of transportation occasioned by the removal of fuel subsidy, the SA on Policy and Intervention maintained that the Governor takes the welfare of Civil servants seriously and would do the needful where necessary.
