The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the 2027 election in Abia State, Kelechi Anosike, has declared that the party has regained its strength and unity, expressing confidence that it is ready to reclaim power in the state.

Speaking with journalists shortly after arriving at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Anosike described the large crowd of party faithful who received him as a clear indication that Abians are ready to return the PDP to Government House in 2027.

The PDP flag bearer thanked God for what he described as His kindness and mercy, while expressing appreciation to the party’s national leadership for its efforts in repositioning the PDP in Abia State. He specifically acknowledged the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, the party’s National Chairman, Abdulrahman Mohammed, and National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, for their support.

Anosike said the enthusiastic reception underscored the renewed confidence of Abia people in the PDP, insisting that the party has found new energy and is poised to take over the state’s leadership in the next governorship election.

Describing his arrival as a homecoming following his emergence as the PDP governorship candidate, he also thanked the party’s stakeholders, delegates, members of the State Working Committee and supporters for their unwavering commitment.

Reaffirming the party’s readiness for the 2027 contest, Anosike declared that the PDP is “back, stronger and united,” adding that the party is offering Abians “the same party, but with new standards and a new direction.”
