2027: Anosike Woos Abia Youths, Promises Global Job Opportunities

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate for Abia State in the 2027 elections, Dr. Kelechi Anosike, says any responsible government must prioritise the affairs and future of young people.

Anosike described the youths as partners in progress and the extension of the present generation.

He stated this at the Ohuhu Youth Day held at Afugiri Central School, Ohuhu, where he was honoured with a Visionary Leadership Award by the Ohuhu Youth Wing of the Ohuhu Welfare Union.

The award was presented to him by the traditional ruler of Umudiawa Autonomous Community, His Royal Highness, Eze Nnamdi Ofoegbu.

Anosike said a government that fails to have deliberate programmes for young people does not understand the future, stressing that the youths constitute the future of society.

The PDP candidate identified agriculture as key to job creation and food security in Abia, and unveiled his proposed Operation Feed Abia, a deliberate back-to-farm policy designed to engage young people in agriculture.

He commended the Ohuhu youth leadership for its initiatives in agriculture and ICT, and announced a donation of one million naira to support the group’s agricultural programme.

Anosike further promised that, if elected, his administration would create opportunities for Abia youths to work remotely for companies in Asia and Europe through what he described as the Abia Global Opportunity Agency.

He said the initiative would prepare young people for a future where many jobs can be performed virtually from anywhere in the world.

The governorship hopeful urged Ohuhu youths to regard the 2027 PDP governorship project as their own and support it, promising to support other youth-driven programmes across the state.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the event, Royal High Chief Ugochukwu Ernest Edozie, commended the Ohuhu youth leadership for its visionary programmes and urged the group to make the Ohuhu Youth Day an annual event.

Earlier, President of the Ohuhu Welfare Union Youth Wing, Chief Uchenna Iheanacho, said the organisation had empowered more than 300 people through farming and skills acquisition programmes.

Iheanacho disclosed that the group requires about 75 million naira for its next phase of projects, including an agriculture and free farming loan scheme, anti-drug abuse and anti-cultism campaigns, health awareness programmes, ICT training for 50 students, and vocational training programmes.
