Former member of the House of Representatives for Umuahia North/Umuahia South/Ikwuano Federal Constituency, Sam Onuigbo, has highlighted key achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and called for his re-election in 2027.

Onuigbo made the remarks during the inauguration of Local Government Coordinators, their assistants, and executives of the City Boy Movement, Abia State Chapter, across the six Local Government Areas of Abia Central Senatorial Zone.

According to him, the Tinubu administration has recorded notable milestones through the introduction of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), the unification of the foreign exchange rate, and increased revenue allocations to governors across the 36 states of the federation.

He, however, urged state governors to ensure that the increased funds are translated into visible development at the grassroots level, stressing that communities must feel the impact of governance.

The event was presided over by the State Director of the movement, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe, who described the inauguration as more than a ceremonial gathering, saying it symbolised renewed patriotism, unity, and a shared vision for a prosperous Nigeria.

Igbokwe said the City Boy Movement remains a grassroots-driven initiative focused on mobilising, empowering, and uniting young Nigerians across the country ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He charged the newly inaugurated executives to see their appointments as a call to service rather than mere titles, urging them to build inclusive structures in their respective LGAs and wards, actively engage their communities, and ensure that every voice is heard.

The State Director further appealed to traditional rulers, community leaders, political stakeholders, and residents of Abia State to support the movement, noting that collective effort is necessary for meaningful development and national progress.

Earlier, the Zonal Coordinator, Chief Uzo, described a “City Boy” as any young man or woman who has risen through hard work to achieve success, adding that the movement represents hope for a brighter future.

The event attracted party leaders and stakeholders, including APC Chairmen from Umuahia North and Umuahia South LGAs, the CBM State Patron, State Coordinator, LGA Coordinators, and other executives.

The ceremony ended with renewed commitment among members as the movement continues to expand its presence across Abia State.
