The Abia State Chapter of the CityBoy Movement, CBM, has disowned Comrade Emeka Kenneth Uche as its alleged Student Coordinator, saying the position is not recognised in the Movement’s approved Student Affairs structure.

The clarification follows reports on a recent protest at the CBM headquarters in Umuahia, where Uche was reportedly identified as the “Student Coordinator of the CBM Youth Wing, Abia State.”

In a statement signed by the State Director of Student Affairs, Ambassador Comrade Paschal Emediegwu, the Movement said Uche was never appointed, designated or authorised to occupy or act in that capacity.

Emediegwu said the designation does not exist within the recognised organogram of the Student Affairs Department, stressing that he remains the duly recognised State Director responsible for coordinating student affairs within the Movement.

He warned that creating or projecting unofficial positions could cause confusion among students, members, coordinators and the general public.

The CBM said it respects citizens’ rights to express grievances and participate in peaceful activities, but insisted that such activities must not be presented as official positions or actions of its Student Affairs Department without proper authorisation.

The Movement urged students, members of the public and the media to rely on official communications from its recognised leadership when reporting matters concerning its organisational structure.

It reaffirmed its commitment to peace, unity, discipline and transparency, promising to strengthen its engagement with students and ensure that their participation in the Movement is coordinated through a properly constituted and accountable structure.
