EID – EL FITR: ABIA NSCDC DEPLOYS 800 PERSONNEL TO BEEF UP SECURITY

Ahead of the 2024 Eid – El Fitr celebration, the Abia State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps – CC Usman Ishaq Alfadarai fdc MNIM MFR has deployed an additional Eight Hundred (800) Officers and Men serving in the State to beef up security to ensure a hitch free celebration.

The State Commandant disclosed this at the Command’s Headquarters in Umuahia today, Monday , 8th April, 2024 during the Weekly Mustard Parade.

According to him “as part of our security measures to ensure that Muslim faithful in the State join their counterparts across the globe to mark the 2024 Ei -el – Fitr under a peaceful environment, I have ordered the immediate deployment of additional Eight Hundred Personnel to strategic locations across the State.”

He further disclosed that the personnel were drawn from Area Commands, Divisions, Tactical Units and Special Forces to provide adequate backup to operatives in the field already carrying out routine security duties.

Addressing the personnel who made the Salah deployment list, Commandant Alfadarai said ” gentlemen, this is another very important national assignment and the Commandant General- CG Ahmed Abububakar Audi PhD mni OFR has directed full security coverage to ensure a hitch free celebration. I urge you to give it your very best”

He commended Officers and Men of the Command for what he described as “splendid performance” in the just concluded Easter celebration and urged them to keep the flag flying higher.

“You are to redouble your efforts to ensure that the relative peace in the State is not only sustained but also improved upon. Our mandates of securing lives and Critical National Assets and Infrastructure must be fulfilled” Commandant Alfadarai said.

The Abia NSCDC Boss assured that beyond the near fixed security measures, the State shall witness increased motorized patrols round the three Senatorial zones with special attention to Eid praying grounds, recreational Centers and other public places.

Meanwhile, Commandant Alfadarai seized the opportunity to congratulate the Muslim faithful for a successful Ramadan fast and urged them to remain law abiding and continue to coexist peacefully with their host communities even as they celebrate.

He reiterated that security remains everybody’s business and charged the public to report suspicious objects and persons to the nearest security formations for prompt action.
