Breaking: Panic in Ezeagu, Enugu as Gunmen Allegedly Abduct Pupils

An unspecified number of pupils were reportedly abducted from a primary school in Oha, Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State.

According to an eyewitness who spoke to Family Love FM correspondent on phone, shared to Dailytrailnews.com, the suspected abductors arrived at the school in a Hilux vehicle painted in military colours and dressed in military-style uniforms.

The witnesses alleged that the gunmen fired several shots into the air before taking the pupils to an unknown destination.

The incident is said to have caused panic in Oha and surrounding communities, with many pupils and students abandoning classes and returning home for safety.

Academic activities were also reportedly disrupted at the Enugu State Polytechnic as fear spread across the area.

Meanwhile, the Enugu State Police Command has dismissed the reports which is already gaining traction on social media.

In a statement issued by the command’s public relations office, SP Daniel Ndukwe, an On-the-spot security assessments, intelligence gathering, operational actions and discreet investigations immediately launched by the Command clearly revealed that no such attack occurred in any school within Ezeagu Local Government Area or elsewhere in Enugu State.

He further called on citizens to go about their normal activities.
