GREGORY UNIVERSITY UTURU COMMEMORATES IGBO DAY 2024

In pursuit of the vision to revive, promote and celebrate vital ethos of the rich traditions of Ndigbo as envisioned by the Founder of Gregory University Uturu, Prof Gregory Ibe, the Institution’s Centre for Igbo Renaissance has lined up many colorful activities in commemoration of the 2024 edition of Igbo Day Celebration.


According to a statement by the Registrar of Gregory University Uturu, Vincent Maliki, the annual Igbo Day Celebration is designed to provide a platform for the resuscitation, preservation and celebration of unique features of Igbo cultural heritage by members of the university community.


While appreciating the Founder of GUU Prof Ibe for initiating the annual event, Mr Maliki enjoined the public to attend the cultural fiesta which has been scheduled to take place on Wednesday 24 July.


Part of the statement reads, ” In pursuit of the vision of our Founder Prof Gregory Ibe, the Management of Gregory University Uturu hereby invites the public to the commemoration of the 2024 Igbo Day Celebration on Wednesday 24 July 2024 at Goodluck Jonathan Auditorium”.


The release further states,” Hosted by our Eze Cyril Ibe Centre for Igbo Renaissance, the fiesta will as usual present a platform for the resuscitation, preservation and celebration of unique features of Igbo cultural heritage by members of the university community. The theme for this year’s celebration is Icheta Nso Ala Ndigbo- Identifying The Abominable Behaviors in Igbo Land”.


Concluding, the statement said, ” All pro Igbo persons and groups are invited to attend in their beautiful cultural attires as it promises to be a colorful fiesta that will showcase the costumes, cuisines and rich cultures of Ndigbo”.
