Onuigbo empowers 500 constituents on fish farming

The Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency Hon. Sam Onuigbo harped on the need for political leaders to spread the benefits of democracy to the people irrespective of party affiliations.

Onuigbo made this known during an empowerment programme by the Federal Co-operative College, Oji River in Enugu State facilitated by the Rep Member which saw the disbursement of funds to 500 persons to start fish production and marketing in Abia.

Speaking to newsmen, the Federal Lawmaker, represented by his Chief Liaison Officer, Abraham Osundu, said the beneficiaries were trained in different aspects of fish production and marketing adding that the dividends of governance should cut across party lines.

Onuigbo who described the programme as a continuation of his commitment towards empowering the unemployed youths and unskilled women in the constituency called on the beneficiaries to judiciously utilize the provided funds in their endeavours.

One of the beneficiaries, Glory Ikeanya thanked the Lawmaker for his efforts so far as she expressed confidence that he will do more when given a higher opportunity to represent his people.

Also, Okwudiri Osonka and Glory Oruh both showered praises on the lawmaker.

Daily trail news reports that the beneficiaries received 50,000 naira stipend at the end of the three-day entrepreneurship development training in fishery in Umuahia.
