Governor Otti Celebrates Former Anambra Governor Chris Ngige at 74

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has felicitated with former Anambra State Governor and former Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Nwabueze Ngige, as he marks his 74th birthday.


In a congratulatory message, Governor Otti described Senator Ngige’s attainment of the milestone in good health as a source of joy, while celebrating his contributions to the development of Anambra State and Nigeria.


Otti described Ngige as an illustrious Nigerian and statesman whose years of public service as Governor, Senator and Minister had distinguished him and contributed significantly to the growth of the country.


The Abia Governor said he was particularly elated to celebrate his “brother and friend” at 74, noting that Ngige’s sound health makes the occasion even more remarkable.


Governor Otti stated that Senator Ngige remains deserving of celebration for his contributions to public service and national development.


The Abia Chief Executive also urged the former Governor to remain committed to nation-building, stressing that his wealth of knowledge and experience are particularly needed at this time to deepen Nigeria’s democracy and improve the economic well-being of citizens.


Governor Otti, on behalf of his family, the Abia State Government and the people of the state, wished Senator Ngige a happy 74th birthday and many more years in good health.


The message was signed by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma, on August 8, 2026.
