2027: Onwuka Promises People-Centred Representation, Jobs, Better Healthcare, Infrastructure for Abia North

The APGA Senatorial Candidate for Abia North, Chief Irukwu Onwuka, has unveiled a five-point development agenda aimed at giving the senatorial district a new face, new energy and a new direction.

Onwuka, in a statement, said his vision is anchored on people-centred, effective and accountable representation, insisting that Abia North deserves leadership that listens to the people, understands their challenges and remains accessible and connected to the communities it represents.

His development agenda focuses on jobs and enterprise, education and human capital development, healthcare and community well-being, infrastructure development, and effective representation.

On economic development, the APGA candidate said priority would be given to young entrepreneurs, small businesses, skills acquisition, technology, agriculture and agro-processing to create more opportunities for young people and families across the district.

He also pledged to support education through scholarships, digital and technical skills, vocational training, support for tertiary students, career development and employment opportunities.

On healthcare, Onwuka expressed support for initiatives to improve community health, strengthen health awareness programmes, support rural healthcare services and promote maternal and child health.

He further promised to advocate for improved infrastructure, including better roads, rural connectivity, electricity, clean water, markets and digital infrastructure.

The APGA candidate stressed that effective representation must extend beyond election periods.

Onwuka said: “My commitment is to provide representation that is accessible, accountable and permanently connected to the people. The voices of our communities must be heard, and the development needs of Abia North must receive strong and consistent attention.”

The candidate said his vision encompasses all five local government areas of Abia North Senatorial District — Arochukwu, Bende, Isuikwuato, Ohafia and Umunneochi.
Chief Onwuka also called for unity, participation and collective commitment towards building a stronger and more prosperous Abia North.

He described the district as home to hardworking people, talented young men and women, professionals, entrepreneurs, farmers and vibrant communities, saying their collective strength can be harnessed to drive greater development.

Under the banner “The New Face of Abia North,” Chief Irukwu Onwuka is seeking a united effort across Arochukwu, Bende, Isuikwuato, Ohafia and Umunneochi to move the senatorial district forward.
