Seyi Makinde Emerges APM Presidential Candidate as Victor Umunna Wins Abia Governorship Ticket

The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Abia State has announced the emergence of Seyi Makinde as the party’s presidential candidate following the successful conduct of its state congresses and primary elections monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).


The party disclosed that Makinde secured a total of 325 votes across Abia State to clinch the party’s presidential ticket.
The APM also confirmed the emergence of Deacon Victor Umunna as the party’s governorship candidate in Abia State, alongside his re-election as the State Chairman of the party.


Other officials elected during the congress include Hon. Davidson Uzoechi as Deputy State Chairman and Pastor Ken Ihebinandu as the State Secretary.


According to the statement, the congresses and primaries were supervised by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Mazi Njoku Kalu, who served as Chairman of the Electoral Committee, while INEC officials monitored the exercise to ensure compliance with electoral guidelines.


The party described the exercise as peaceful, transparent and successful, expressing confidence in the ability of its candidates and newly elected officials to reposition the party ahead of future elections in the state.


The APM further called on party members and the people of Abia State to unite in the spirit of progress and work collectively towards building a stronger state through human capital development and empowerment.


“A unified Abia is possible. Let us work together to achieve it,” the statement added.


The statement was jointly signed by the Abia State Chairman of the party, Deacon Victor Umunna, and the State Secretary, Pastor Kenneth Ihebinandu.
