Ex-Abia Speaker Chinedum Orji commends OMPAN for supporting his tenure, pledges not to serve as distraction to any elected political office holder

The immediate past Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Chinedum Orji has expressed appreciation to Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria OMPAN members for supporting him to succeed as the Speaker of Abia House of Assembly, vowing that he would never be a distraction to any elected political office holder in Abia State.

Engr Orji who made this known during a courtesy visit by a select OMPAN members at his home town in Umuahia, stated that he has decided not to be a distraction to whosoever that is elected in Abia State, while commending the association for contributing to the success of his tenure as a Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly.

He explained that he has refrained from making public statements that will heat up the polity and reiterated his commitment to integrity and transparency as well as ready to come and render his stewardship as the former Speaker Abia State House of Assembly when ask to do so be relevant authorities.

He further challenged OMPAN members to build their various platforms and leverage on the recent monetization of Social Media platforms such as Facebook to earn in dollars so as to enable them make money to handle some of their bills.

He assured of his continual support to OMPAN in whatever area he can be of a help.

His words,” I have refrained from making public statements. I do not want to heat up the polity”

” I am not interested in distracting anyone, when it is time for politics, I Chinedu Orji will play it. I will not be a party to any confusion in the State. Whatever anybody promised during political campaigns, he or she should do that to the people.

” If anyone wants me to come and show my stewardship, I will come and do it” he said.

Earlier,the Chairman of OMPAN and leader of the delegation, Chief Promise Uzoma Okoro noted that when Rt Hon Chinedum Orji was the Speaker, he worked closely with OMPAN and” we want to appreciate him for opening his doors for us.

He also said OMPAN decided to pay him courtesy visit to interface with him on the area of information and communication.
