APC Reconciliation: Sam Anya Calls for Unity, Backs Tinubu’s 2027 Re-election in Abia

Chief Dr. Sam Anya, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has called on party leaders and stakeholders in Abia State to put their differences behind them and unite ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Anya made the call at a stakeholders’ meeting held at the APC Secretariat in Umuahia, where party members resolved to reconcile their differences and work together towards strengthening the party ahead of the elections.

The meeting also featured celebrations marking the birthday of the party chairman and discussions on reconciliation within the party.

Anya said the objective of the reconciliation was to ensure that the APC approaches the 2027 elections as a united political family capable of winning elective positions across the state.

He expressed optimism that with unity, the party could secure victory in the governorship, Senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly elections.

The APC chieftain also declared his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid, arguing that the Federal Government’s interventions had increased resources available to states, including Abia.

According to him, Abia State has received increased federal resources under the Tinubu administration, which he said should translate into improved infrastructure, payment of salaries and other development projects for residents.

Anya urged APC members and supporters to communicate what he described as the achievements of the Tinubu administration to the electorate ahead of the 2027 elections.

He cited road projects, schools and other federal interventions as evidence of the administration’s presence in the state, insisting that the party must do more to explain these interventions to the people.

The APC chieftain also praised Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, for his support for President Tinubu and his empowerment initiatives in Abia.

Anya said Kalu’s role in mobilising support for the President and strengthening the APC in the state deserved recognition.

He also expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for appointing Kalu as the leader of the APC in Abia State, describing the Deputy Speaker as a politician who had continued to demonstrate commitment to the party.

Anya, who hails from Elu Autonomous Community in Ohafia Local Government Area, is a trained engineer from the University of Lagos with a background in oil and gas consulting.

He has also been involved in politics and community leadership in Rivers State, where he served as a leader of non-indigenes and was nominated as a commissioner under Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

He holds the traditional title of Akaekpuchionwa I of Ohafia Udumeze.

The stakeholders’ meeting ended with renewed calls for reconciliation, unity and coordinated mobilisation as the APC begins preparations for the 2027 general elections.
