The Abia State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has disowned a statement purportedly issued by its State Youth Leader calling for the suspension of the activities of the City Boys Movement in the state.

In a statement signed by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Uche Aguoru, the State Chairman and the State Working Committee, SWC, said they were neither consulted nor did they authorize the purported statement.

The party described the statement as unauthorized, stressing that it neither represents the position of the State Chairman nor has the endorsement or approval of the State Working Committee.

Abia APC said its leadership is working in partnership with the City Boys Movement, alongside other support groups and political structures across the state, to secure victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates in the 2027 general election.

The party consequently cautioned its State Youth Leader against making statements or taking actions without proper authorization, particularly where such conduct could create an impression of disunity, cause disaffection among members or undermine the collective efforts of the party.

APC further directed its members, supporters and affiliated groups to disregard the purported statement and be guided by decisions and directives issued through the appropriate organs of the party.

The party leadership reaffirmed its commitment to unity, discipline and cooperation among members, support groups and other stakeholders as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum.
