Abia APC Faults Alleged Otti Endorsement, Says Benjamin Kalu Remains Loyal to Party

The Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed as false and deceptive reports alleging that the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, endorsed Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, for a second term in office.

In a statement signed by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Uche Aguoru, the APC described the reports allegedly circulated by Governor Otti’s media team as “misleading, malicious, and deceptive propaganda” aimed at misleading the public.

The party stated that although Abians were already familiar with what it described as the Otti administration’s style of propaganda, media manipulation, and misinformation, it became necessary to set the record straight for unsuspecting members of the public.

According to the statement, Benjamin Kalu remains a loyal, committed, and dedicated member of the APC and the undisputed leader of the party in Abia State.

The APC queried what it described as the desperation of a government allegedly seeking endorsements despite what it called “illusory self-praise,” insisting that at no time, either publicly or privately, did the Deputy Speaker endorse Governor Otti for a second term.

The party further maintained that Kalu remains fully committed to the mission of ensuring that the APC wins all elective positions in Abia State and takes over the Government House in Umuahia in 2027.

It added that the Deputy Speaker’s resolve to see the Labour Party administration voted out of office remains “strong, consistent, and unwavering,” especially in view of what it termed the mismanagement of the state across key sectors.

The APC therefore urged Abians to remain steadfast, united, and committed to supporting the party in its quest to provide what it described as a credible alternative and a better future for the people of the state.
