NOA gets Zonal office in Abia

The National Orientation Agency NOA has announced establishment of its Southeast Zonal Headquarters in Abia State with the objective of improving Regional Coordination, Increased Accessibility to information for citizens and their participation in national development, fostering better communication between the government and citizens, as well as promoting transparency and accountability.


Speaking while briefing the press at the office of the Abia State Orientation Agency, where the team will be temporarily working from before going to their permanent office allocated to them by the Governor Dr. Alex Otti, the NOA Southeast Zonal Director Mrs. Regina Iroha appreciated the Director -General of NOA, Mallam Lanre Issa – Onilu for what she described as a commendable feat, as she lauded Governor Otti for supporting and facilitating the establishment of the Zonal Headquarters in the State despite being a Governor of Labour Party extraction. She as well as commended the DG OF ABSOA Ure Abazie for what she described as serving as a bridge in actualizing the feat.

Iroha noted that the Southeastern Zone, comprising Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo states, as a vital part of Nigeria’s economic and cultural landscape will play a crucial role in Promoting National Unity through encouraging citizens to work together towards common goals and fostering a sense of national identity. She noted that the Zonal office will also contribute in supporting Economic Development: through Providing information and resources to support entrepreneurship, innovation, and economic growth in the region.


Mrs. Iroha maintained that the South East Zonal Directorate of the NOA will align its programs with the policy thrusts of the five Southeast State by ensuring that its initiatives are tailored to the specific needs and priorities of each state, thereby ultimately contributing to the overall development of the region.

In their respective addresses, the Head Association of Federal Establishments Abia State Mrs. Gloria Abiakam, ABSOA DG Ure Abazie, State Director of NOA Victor Orji all expressed optimism on the peaceful coexistence of the state agency and that of the federal with the common goal of working to benefit the people and the state at large.
