Ogbonnaya Onu’s death came to me as a rude shock, he’ll be sorely missed – Sam Onuigbo

Member representing the South East on the Governing Board of the North East Development Commission (NEDC), Rep. Sam Onuigbo has expressed shock at the news of the death of Former Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation Dr Ogbonnaya Onu.

Onuigbo in a statement made available to Dailytrailnews “While death is a path we must all walk, Dr Onu’s death has deeply saddened me”.

The news of the sudden death of the former Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, and first civilian Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Dr Ogbonnaya Onu CON, FNSE, FNSChE, FAEng, came to me as a huge shock.

While death is a path we must all walk, Dr Onu’s death has deeply saddened me.

Yet we must find some consolation from the fact that he was a consummate gentleman, a man of integrity, a principled scholar, and a selfless servant of the people. He will be sorely missed by all of us.

On behalf of myself, my family, and my supporters, I sympathize with his immediate family, the people of Ebonyi State, and Nigerians in general.

May God give us the strength to bear this huge loss.
