IDU-F Celebrates Sam Onuigbo at Birthday, Hails His Legislative Excellence and Global Impact

The Ikwuano Development Union – Federated, IDU-F, has celebrated former House of Representatives member and President of GLOBE Legislators, Rt. Hon. Sir Sam Onuigbo, describing him as a distinguished statesman and a source of pride to Ikwuano.

In a birthday message signed by its President-General, Chief Sam Eke, the union congratulated Onuigbo for what it described as his doggedness, resilience, intellect and sustained commitment to public service.

The IDU-F said Onuigbo’s career, spanning diplomatic service, the Abia State Government, the National Assembly and international parliamentary engagement, had demonstrated the relevance of knowledge, leadership and excellence in public service.

The union particularly highlighted his legislative contribution to climate action, including his sponsorship of Nigeria’s Climate Change Act, as well as his continued global engagement on climate change and sustainability.

According to the IDU-F, Onuigbo’s emergence as President of GLOBE Legislators, a global network of parliamentarians, further reflects his international stature and contribution to legislative development.

The union said his achievements had brought honour to Ikwuano and helped project the community onto the global stage.

It prayed for more years of good health, renewed strength and wisdom for the former federal lawmaker to continue contributing to causes that advance humanity and the development of Ikwuano.
