Headies 2022: Olamide, Wizkid, Adekunle Gold win big

Nigerian Singers, Olamide, Wizkid, and Adekunle Gold have won individual awards at the ongoing 2022 Headies in Atlanta, United States of America.

Olamide won the Best Rap Album category at this year’s Headies. He won with his album, Carpe Diem.

Also, Wizkid’s hit song ‘Essence’ featuring Tems, won the Best Collaboration and Best R ‘n’ B single at the 15th Headies holding in Atlanta.

Born Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, Wizkid also won Album of the year with his ‘Made in Lagos (Deluxe Edition).

Adekunle Gold, on his part, won the Songwriter of the Year with ‘Sinner’.

Newsmen had earlier reported that Nigerian songwriter, Buju BNXN, won the 2022 Headies Next Rated award.

Born Daniel Benson, Buju emerges as the winner after beating the likes of Ayra Starr, Zinoleesky, Lojay and Ruger.

With the award, Buju goes home with the 2022 Bentley Bentayga.

Buju is a Nigerian singer also known as Bujutoyourears. Buju is an acronym for ‘Beauty Underneath Just Understood’.

Newsmen had reported that Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Ayo Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid topped the 2022 Headies list with 10 nominations.

Wizkid bagged nominations in Male Artiste Of The Year, African Artiste Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Best Music Video, and Best Collaboration categories.

Wizkid also appeared in other categories like Best Recording, Best R&B Single, Best Afrobeats Album, Album Of The Year, and Viewers Choice.
