A former member of the House of Representatives and aspirant for the Abia Central Senatorial seat, Rep. Sam Onuigbo, has continued his political consultations ahead of the 2027 elections with a courtesy visit to elder statesman, Chris Adighije, at his country home in Olokoro, Abia State.

During the visit, Senator Adighije was hosting undergraduate students of Olokoro extraction studying at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike.

Speaking in a warm and interactive atmosphere, Adighije introduced Onuigbo to the students and commended his record of accountability, diligence and commitment to public service.

Addressing the gathering, Onuigbo highlighted some of his achievements while representing the Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

He particularly recalled his role in facilitating the restoration of management courses at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, alongside other developmental projects and interventions attracted to communities across Ikwuano and Umuahia.

The former lawmaker said his continued consultations were part of efforts to engage critical stakeholders and youths across the Abia Central Senatorial District as he seeks to represent the zone at the Senate.

The event later turned lively as the students reportedly sang songs in appreciation of the contributions and impact of Onuigbo’s interventions in their communities and the university.

Onuigbo also presented Senator Adighije with a copy of his publication documenting his interventions in politics and climate change advocacy.

Responding, Adighije appreciated the gesture and encouraged the former federal lawmaker to remain steadfast in his pursuit, expressing confidence in his capacity and qualification for the Senate seat.

The elder statesman further urged him to continue working hard while trusting God for a successful outcome in his political ambition.
