APC Zones Abia 2027 Governorship Ticket to Abia Central

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State has officially zoned its governorship ticket for the 2027 general elections to Abia Central Senatorial District.

In a statement issued by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Uche Aguoru, the decision was announced as a directive to guide members and prospective aspirants in the purchase of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms.

The party said the move was informed by principles of equity, justice, and fair play, emphasizing its commitment to balanced representation across the state’s three senatorial zones.

According to the statement, the zoning arrangement aligns with the longstanding practice of power rotation in Abia State since the return of democracy in 1999, aimed at promoting unity and inclusiveness.

The APC further noted that the current state party chairman is from Abia North, while Abia South produced the immediate past governor, making it equitable for Abia Central to produce the next governor under its platform.

The party called on aspirants and stakeholders from other zones to respect the decision and work collectively towards securing victory in the 2027 elections.
