Otti launches “Operation Crush” in Abia, says no negotiations with criminals

The governor of Abia state Dr. Alex Otti has reiterated his resolve to secure the state and make it an investment haven for intending and existing investors by crushing criminal elements and completely chasing them out of the state.

The Governor who made this known during the official launch of a security operation for Abia state code named ‘Operation Crush” said the security agencies involved which includes the Police, the Nigerian Army, the Department of state Services, the Navy and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps have the mandate from him to smoke out criminals from their hideout and make the state hot for them.

Governor Otti noted that special attention will be paid to parts of the state that have recorded cases of insecurity and indeed all parts of Abia as his government has been recently dealt a huge blow by the criminals.

The Governor maintained that his administration has just one of two options for those he described as enemies of the state, stressing that there won’t be room for negotiations.

The number one citizen of Abia called on all and sundry to play an active part in coming forth with information when necessary to aid security agencies in doing their job as he warned that any act of sabotage from anyone will not be tolerated.

Speaking on behalf of other security agencies present, the Abia Commissioner of Police, CP Kenechukwu Onwuemelie appreciated the Governor for prioritizing security of the state as he pledged the commitment of the Force and that of sister security agencies in carrying out the mandate of the Operation Crush.

Dailytrailnews reports that the event saw the governor unveil and commission several Hilux vehicles witnessed by various Security Chiefs in the state namely Commander 14 Brigade of the Nigerian Army; Brigadier Commander N.J Edet, Navy Commander; Sylvester Ogogo, CP Onwuemelie for the Abia Police Command, State Director DSS; Friday Ohuche, NSCDC state Commandant; Paul Igwebuike, Traditional Rulers, Captains of Industries amongst other government functionaries and Dignitaries.
