More communities continue to benefit from the Dr. Okwun Ojah Family Foundation Humanitarian and Rural Welfare Intervention project.

In continuation of his avowed commitment to contribute meaningfully in alleviating the sufferings of the rural community dwellers, Chief Dr Okwun Ojah (Onwa of Ohafia and Ogbankpu Ohafia), an Amaekpu Ohafia born Medical Practitioner based in Australia through his Okwun Ojah Family Foundation Humanitarian and Rural Welfare Intervention Scheme recently embarked on the distribution of Rice palliatives to some Ohafia community.

Saturday, the 10th day of August 2024, was a day of happiness for people of Ndi Uduma Awoke Ohafia Community as the villagers trooped out in their numbers to express great appreciation as they joyfully received an unexpected gift of a total of high quality 50kg bags of rice meant for all the compounds including the youths and women leaders as part of Dr. Okwun Ojah’s humble effort to assist in cushioning the economic crunch in society.

The occasion which coincided with the Ikeji festival of Ndi UDUMA Awoke community turned out to be a spectacular funfair as the women danced intriguingly and gorgeously to the high tempo of the tantalising traditional musical rendition by the elegant Ogelle Boyz of Amaekpu Ohafia who accompanied the palliative distribution crew led by the manager of Okwun Ojah family foundation, mazi Jonah Okoro.

Highlights of the occasion were the showering of corporate praises and commendation by the appreciative mothers, fathers, and youths, as well as offering of emotion-laden Royal blessings and prayers by the Ezieogo in council as they prayed God for good health and more grace upon Dr. Okwun Ojah and his family to enable him to achieve his future life ambitions.

The atmosphere was less glamorous in Amaekpu Ohafia community as the community dwellers, especially women, trouped out at Okpoch square to receive as usual a benevolent donation of 50kg bags of rice palliative from their illustrious son , Dr. Okwun Ojah, the Okoeosisi of ndi Umuozio.
However, the distribution and funfair exercise was eventually postponed to Sunday, 11th August, 2024, as a result of misinformation on the part of the women leadership, and to create opportunity for greater number of women to witness and participate in the distribution process in line with the ideals of the benefactor.

It is worthy of note that a total of 60 bags of rice was meant for distribution to Ndi Uduma Awoke and Amaekpu Ohafia communities as well as other relevant individuals and groups.
