#Akuchi2025: Immense joy as Akunnaya weds Kelechi in grand style
It was pomp and pageantry as family, friends and well-wishers gathered in the beautiful city of Owerri, the Imo state capital on the 30th of August 2025 to witness the tying of nuptial knots between SP Kelechi Otah and Sandra Akunnaya Anyanwu, now Akunnaya Otah as prayers, blessings and good wishes rained on the newly wedded couple.
The event which held at the Assumpta Cathedral Control Owerri with the hash tag #Akuchi 2025 saw guests from all over the country grace the occasion, as well as the powerful rendition by the Police band, not forgetting a Police guard of honour in honour of the couple with the attendant parades and salutes.
Speaking immediately after wedding service at the Assumpta Cathedral, one of the officiating Priests Reverend Father Santus Onwumere from the Catholic Diocese of Ahiara Mbaise prayed for the new couple.

He dvised them to show love and forgiveness to each other in their marriage.

Also speaking, the Traditional Ruler of Umuobasiukwu in Ozuitem Autonomous Community where the groom hails from; Eze John Onuoha Akaliro was full of good wishes and prayers for the newly wedded couple.

The newly wedded husband could not hide his excitement, stressing that a lot of positive qualities attracted him to his wife, as he promised to take good care of her in their marriage.

Earlier speaking, the immediate younger sister to the groom, Mrs. Mercy Nwaubani (Nee Otah) who occupies the dual leadership role as the CEO Machani Foundation for the Needy, as well as the Founder Mercy Otah Foundation, expressed gratitude to God for making the day a reality.

She also showered prayers and words of advice for the couple.

She further spoke on the strides achieved so far by her foundations, stressing that the motivation behind her drive is her desire to see the poor and vulnerable get better and quality life.

Dailytrail news reports that the wedding ceremony witnessed the presence of the Imo State Commissioner for Police CP Aboki Danjuma, the Police PRO Imo command DSP Henry Okoye, as well other top ranking Police officers and dignitaries across Nigeria.
