- Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, says his administration takes instructions from God and will not undertake any action he believes God does not approve.
- Otti stated this on Sunday, October 18, when he worshipped at the headquarters of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries in Lagos, fulfilling a promise he made to the church’s General Overseer, Pastor Lazarus Muoka, during one of his visits to Abia State.
Addressing the congregation, the governor cited Psalm 62:11, which states that power belongs to God, and attributed his strong Christian foundation to his late father, Pastor Lazarus Otti.
He said his decision to venture into politics was rooted in the belief that political power ultimately belongs to God.
The governor added that his administration would not deliberately engage in wrongdoing or seek to influence public institutions to take actions he considers improper.
Otti had made similar remarks on Saturday during worship at the Unity Chapel, Government House, Umuahia, where he described God as the foundation of his administration.
He maintained that doing what is right gives a person peace of mind and the confidence to account for their actions.
Speaking further in Lagos, the governor declared that Abia State had moved beyond the period when it was ridiculed and its people were ashamed to identify with the state.
He challenged those who doubted the changes in Abia to visit and assess the transformation for themselves, a remark that drew applause from the congregation.
Governor Otti also thanked Pastor Muoka and members of the church for the opportunity to worship with them.
In response, Pastor Muoka led the congregation in prayers for the governor and the continued success of his administration.
Ctz. Ukoha Njoku Ukoha, Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Governor of Abia State, announced the visit.
