NEW STATE DIRECTOR ASSUMES DUTY AT NOA ABIA STATE DIRECTORATE

A new State Director has been appointed to head the National Orientation Agency, Abia State Directorate. He is Mr. Chidi Unobagha, who takes over from Comrade Victor Orji who retired after 35 years of meritorious service to the nation.

At a brief handover, the outgoing State Director commended the staff for their cooperation during his tenure and pledged continued support for the new leadership.

Mr. Chidi Unobagha is a Chartered Accountant. Prior to his appointment, he served as a Director at the National Orientation Agency, Enugu State Directorate.

In his maiden meeting with management and staff, Mr. Unobagha commended past leadership in the state and solicited their support for his administration.

He pledged to carry every staff member along in the discharge of official duties, and reaffirmed the Agency’s mandate of mobilizing and sensitizing the public on government policies, programmes and activities.

The new State Director called for dedication and commitment to duty. He warned that his administration will not condone truancy and lateness to work. He also expressed commitment to staff training and development to enhance efficiency and productivity. He further emphasized peace, unity and teamwork as the bedrock for moving the Agency forward.

Mr. Unobagha charged the Community Orientation and Mobilization Officers (COMOs) across the 17 Local Government Areas of the state, describing them as the foot-soldiers of the Agency. He urged them to be more professional and proactive in discharging their duties at the grassroots.
“As the eyes and ears of the Agency in the rural communities, you are expected to report activities in your LGAs and remain readily available at all times,” he said.

Responding on behalf of staff, the Head of Human Resources Management, Mr. Kingsley Igwe, assured the Director of the unalloyed loyalty and support of management and staff. He commended the new State Director for his wealth of experience and track record, and pledged the staff’s commitment to taking the Agency to the next level.
