2027: Enweremadu Endorses Tinubu for Second Term, Signals Interest in Abia Central Senate Seat

Former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Christopher Enweremadu, has publicly endorsed President Bola Tinubu for re-election in the 2027 presidential election, while also signaling his readiness to represent Abia Central Senatorial District in the Senate come 2027.


Enweremadu who made the declaration during an enlarged political meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held at the Ekwu Palace in Ahiaba Okpuala, Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area of Abia State noted that the people of Isiala Ngwa north arrived at the decision after a careful observation of the president’s concerted effort to rebuild Nigeria.


The former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs urged stakeholders be united and rally behind President Tinubu’s administration and the Renewed Hope Agenda, stressing that the people of Isiala Ngwa North and Abia State should align with the federal government to attract more development to the region.

The former Speaker also used the occasion to highlight the need for stronger representation of Abia Central at the National Assembly, expressing his determination to offer purposeful leadership for the district if given the opportunity to represent the zone in the Senate in 2027.

He however stressed that thee race was not all about himself as he was willing to support any other widely acceptable personality from Isiala Ngwa North.

Earlier in his welcome remarks, the Director-General and Coordinator of the City Boy Movement in Isiala Ngwa North, Chief Tony Otuonye, described the meeting as a strategic move to strengthen political cooperation within the LGA and across Abia State ahead of the 2027 general elections, to position Isiala Ngwa North for election victory in all the seats it hopes to vie for.

Several stakeholders present at the gathering, including Chief Lucky Nwaogu, Chief Uzoma Onwauka, Chief Joshua Onyenkwere, Chief Okey Nguma, and Dr. (Mrs.) Elizabeth Esochaghi, expressed confidence in Enweremadu’s capacity to lead Abia Central aright, as they pledged to back efforts that would aid the realization of his aspiration to represent the Senatorial Zone come 2027.


A major highlight of the meeting was the formal reception of several defectors from other political parties who were officially welcomed into the APC, a development party leaders say signals wide acceptance of the APC in the area.
