Mayor of Ukwa West Graces Nigeria British University’s Matriculation Ceremony

The Mayor of Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State Pastor Dike Briggs Nwankwo has graced the Matriculation ceremony of Nigerian British University (NBU) located at Obuzor, Ukwa West LGA.

Nigeria British University is a private institution that operates a curriculum that integrates Nigerian and British educational systems, offering students a unique academic experience.

The university, which continues to grow as a center for learning and research, held its matriculation ceremony on the 1st of March 2025, formally admitting a new set of students into its academic programs.

A statement by Rev. Johnson Nwosu, the Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman, said honouring the invitation of the Vice Chancellor, Prof Hakeem Fawehinmi, the Mayor of Ukwa West, Hon. Pst. Nwankwo attended the event alongside other key stakeholders.

The statement noted that in his goodwill message, the Mayor reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to advancing education and strengthening institutional partnerships for the benefit of the community.

The ceremony, graced by dignitaries from various sectors, affirmed the university’s growing reputation as a hub for academic innovation.

Congratulating the matriculating students, the Mayor urged them to embrace discipline, creativity, and resilience as they embark on their academic journey.
