The Umuahia Political Forum has endorsed the governorship ambition of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 2027 Abia State governorship election, Chief Eric Opah, declaring its support for his bid to lead the state.

The endorsement took place at the Umuahia residence of the Director-General of the Eric Opah Campaign Organization, Chief Charles Ogbonnaya, where members of the forum expressed confidence in Opah’s vision and leadership credentials ahead of the 2027 general election.

Accepting the endorsement, Chief Opah thanked the forum for its confidence in him and promised to provide a people-centred administration anchored on humility, compassion, and responsible leadership if elected governor.

According to him, Abia deserves a government that prioritises the welfare of its citizens over personal interests.

“Abia deserves more than what we have today. A leader will perform better when that leader is not greedy. When I become governor, I will not be greedy,” he declared.

The APC governorship hopeful stressed that empathy would remain a defining principle of his administration, assuring Abians that he would place the needs of the people above personal gains.

“I will have empathy for the people. I will not be greedy,” he reiterated.

Chief Opah also pledged to respect the constitution and internal processes of the All Progressives Congress, assuring party members that he would remain committed to due process and democratic principles.

“Above all, I will not go against the protocol of political party procedure in Nigeria. I will not be greedy,” he added.
