S’ Court Judgment: The time for war is over, come join hands, let’s take APGA to greater heights – South East Chairman Ehiemere tells Njoku
The South East leadership of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) has welcomed the Supreme Court judgement confirming the recognition of Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa as its National Chairman.
In a unanimous judgement on Wednesday November 27th, a five-member panel of the apex court awarded a N20 million fine against Edozie Njoku for filing what it described as a frivolous suit at FCT High Court, Bwari as it insisted that Njoku was hitherto wrongly laying claim to APGA chairmanship.
Justice Stephen Adah, who read the lead judgement, clarified that the Supreme Court’s earlier judgement, which Njoku relied on to claim the chairmanship, did not confer on him any enforceable rights.
The Apex Court consequently set aside the judgement delivered by the Court of Appeal, which had declared Njoku Chairman of APGA as it went further to affirm Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa as the authentic national chairman of the party.
In a statement signed by APGA National Vice Chairman, South East, Rev. Augustine Ehiemere, on behalf of the party’s leadership in the zone, APGA heartily congratulated Chief Ezeokenwa on emerging victorious after a long fought legal battle stressing that the court has once again proven that it is the last hope of the common man and that it stands for justice.
Ehiemere appreciated the national leader of APGA Anambra Governor Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, for his support through the trying times as he commended the entire National Working Committee NWC members of APGA and leaders Worldwide.
The South East Zonal Chair who described the Supreme Court judgement as historic in the political journey of APGA commended Chief Ezeokenwa for staying strong, and for his commitment and doggedness during this period of crisis.
Ehiemere stressed that the time for war is over adding that it is now time for reconciliation and forging ahead as a united front to achieve the greater task of seeing that the party wins the Anambra governorship election come 2025 as well winning subsequent elective positions across the country come 2027.
He called on Edozie Njoku and his followers in the S/East to join hands with Chief Sly Ezeokenwa’s leadership to work together in building and strengthening the Party for the common good of all.
