Onuigbo says ongoing Federal projects across Abia, Southeast testimonial of good governance by Tinubu-led administration

Member representing the South East on the Governing Board of the North East Development Commission (NEDC) Hon. Sam Onuigbo, has commended the Federal Government for setting up the Commission stressing that the success of the Commission has an appreciable impact on the overall development of regions in Nigeria including the Southeast.


Onuigbo, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress who gave the commendation during an interactive session with journalists in Umuahia explained that whatever affects the Northeast if unchecked has the potential of spreading to other parts of the country, including the Southeast and Abia by specifics.

The former Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency, said the Federal Government “deserved recognition and commendation for maintaining what he described as an admirable momentum in ensuring that projects in Abia as well as those connecting the state to other parts of the Southeast were not abandoned but steadily undergoing execution, including the Umuahia-Ikwuano-Ikot Ekpene Federal Road, the road project from Achingali through Umunwawa to Ubakala and the Federal Secretariat in the state.

Onuigbo, who is the NEDC Committee Chairman for Security, Climate Change and Special Interventions, expressed gratitude to Abia Governor Dr. Alex Otti for his commitments in the realization of the Federal Secretariat as he specifically praised Otti for providing quality leadership and paying compensation for economic crops to the secretariat’s host community.
