Onuigbo hails Appeal Court Judgement, says justice has been served

Following a court judgement confirming Honourable Sam Onuigbo as the authentic candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for Abia Central Senatorial District, Onuigbo has lauded the judiciary for upholding justice and proving that the arm remains the last hope of the common man.

An appellate court sitting in Owerri, Imo State, on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 quashed the judgment of Justice Evelyn Anyadike of the Federal High Court in Umuahia, which declared Emeka Atuma winner of the primary election of the APC in Abia Central senatorial district ahead of the 2023 elections.

The appeal court maintained that Onuigbo is the authentic candidate of the APC having purchased the party’s nomination and expression of interest forms and also participated in the party’s primaries.

The court therefore sacked Atuma, affirming the candidacy of Onuigbo.

Reacting to the court judgement Onuigbo, who is the current member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency, in a phone chat with family Love FM harped on the role played by the Electoral Act in correcting what he described as the hitherto overreaching powers of party Administrators.
