Onuigbo bestowed with “Ezi Enyi Uvoma” Award by Olokoro Women, for immense commitment to Education, Infrastructure, Empowerment programs

Former member of the House of Representatives, Chief Sam Onuigbo, says the August Meeting is a unique experience and an avenue for Igbo women, including those in the diaspora, to make their communities better.


Onuigbo who made this statement while speaking with newsmen at the 39th August Meeting of Olokoro Clan Development Union Women Federated (OCDUWF) in Abia said the August meeting is not a mere social gathering for communities that understand its significance, but an opportunity for women to bring their ideas together to develop their communities.

The former Rep Member, who represented Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South from 2015 to 2023 in the House, was given an award of Ezi Enyi (Good Friend) of Uvoma in recognition of his contributions and commitments to education, infrastructure, and empowerment in Olokoro community and Abia in general.

Responding to the award, Onuigbo a member (South-East) of the Governing Board of the North-East Development Commission expressed gratitude to the women for choosing him among the few people to be awarded.

Earlier, the President-General of OCDUWF, Mrs Oluchi Otu, said the conference was an avenue to recognise some individuals for their positive contributions to the community and society, as well as fundraising adding that the meeting provided an opportunity for women both at home and abroad to come together and address some contemporary issues affecting the development of the clan.
