My Brother was a man of peace, love, we’ll continue with the pattern he set – Onuigbo

Member representing the South East on the Board of North East Development Commission Hon. Sam Onuigbo has described his late brother Elder Chief Lawrence Onuigbo Oriaku as a good man who impacted humanity while he was alive.

Onuigbo, a former member of the House of Representatives for Ikwuano/ Umuahia Federal constituency stated this at the funeral service of the deceased who was buried on the 6th of April 2024 at his hometown Obuohia-Ibere in Ikwuano LGA, Abia eulogized his late elder brother stressing that the love that has always existed in their family will continue even after the death of his elder brother.

Delivering the funeral sermon which he titled, ‘Come Before Winter’, the Clergy Snr. Apostle Raphael Onyeije of the New Gospel Mission Incorporated who based his sermon on the bible text of 2 Timothy 4:21 charged Christians to always live ready because they do not know when their Maker would call them back home.

Giving a brief remark, Veteran Nollywood actor, Kanayo O Kanayo who described the late Lawrence as a man of conscience, charged the living to always be conscious of their lives, knowing that they would one day go back home to meet with God adding that he decided to honour the funeral in spite of his busy schedule, because of his close relationship with Chief Sam Onuigbo.

The Late Chief Lawrence Onuigbo-Oriaku until his death was a Judge of the Customary court, he left behind his wife, children, brother, sisters, uncles and aunties to mourn him.

ilytrailnews reports that the funeral witnessed outpouring of tributes from prominent Nigerians, including representative of the Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives RT. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, Senator Rep Abia Central Senatorial District Colonel Austin Akobundu, current Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency Hon. Obi Aguocha, former Minister for Mines and Steel Development Dr. Uche Sampson Ogah amongst others.
