June 12: Non-adherence to rule of law, bane of democracy in Nigeria- Charles Ogbonnaya

The state of Nigeria’s democracy has been blamed on non-adherence to rule of law by both the leaders and the people.


Speaking as an Awardee of Family Love FM’S weeklong event “Heroes of our Democracy”, organized to mark June 12 Democracy Day in Nigeria, monitored by Dailytrailnews, a former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Abia Chief Charles Ogbonnaya maintained that the people have a huge role to play in strengthening and deepening democracy in Nigeria.

Ogbonnaya who also served as a former Commissioner for Trade and Investment in the state kicked against what he described as sectional politicking saying it was hampering on democracy growth and dividends in Nigeria.
