Ikwechegh reiterates support for Otti’s second term bid, says entire Old Bende solidly behind him for intentional leadership in Abia

The Member representing Aba North/Aba South Federal Constituency, Hon. Mascot Ikwechegh, has thrown his weight behind his earlier stance on the recent endorsement of Governor Alex Otti for a second term in office by the Old Bende Progressive Union.

This is coming on the heels of the dismissal of the endorsement by a group, Old Bende Young Professionals who opined that Ikwechegh cannot speak for Old Bende, adding that it would be preposterous for Old Bende people to endorse anyone outside their own sons and daughters, hence the endorsement was “null and void”.

Recall that the endorsement was conveyed in a communiqué presented to the Governor during a courtesy visit by the Union at the Governor’s country home in Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa South LGA, jointly signed by the Chairman of the Union, retired Deputy Inspector General of Police, Azubuike Udah, and the Chairman of the Bende Traditional Rulers Council, Eze Nzenwata Mbakwe.

Speaking on Family Love FM’s program Open Parliament, monitored by Dailytrailnews, Hon. Ikwechegh maintained that that the Old Bende intelligentsia and leaders of thought in the Old Bende political block took their time to observe what he described as the intentional leadership of Governor Otti hence the endorsement to complete what he has started.

The Aba North/Aba South Representative who questioned the authenticity of the Old Bende Young Professionals group, wondered why anyone would not want to identify with what he described as unprecedented development that Abia is currently experiencing under Governor Otti and give him their support.
