The member representing Aba North/Aba South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Alex Ikwechegh, has expressed strong support for the real-time electronic transmission of election results, describing it as a critical step toward sanitizing Nigeria’s political system.

Ikwechegh made his position known while speaking on the need to strengthen the credibility and transparency of the country’s electoral process. According to him, the adoption of real-time electronic transmission of results would help curb manipulation, enhance public trust, and ensure that the true will of the people is reflected in election outcomes.

“I am for real-time electronic transmission of results. That is the only way to sanitize our political system,” he said.

The lawmaker noted that embracing technology in the electoral process would reduce human interference and minimize post-election disputes, while promoting accountability and fairness in democratic governance.
