The publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC Abia state chapter Hon. Okey Ezeala has debunked claims making the rounds that he has resigned his position.

Fielding questions on a radio programme, monitored by dailytrailnews the party chieftain in ABIA state laid to rest recent reports that he has resigned his position and is no longer the spokesperson of APC in the state.

When probed further on the issue Hon Okey Ezeala explained that he only opted to ‘step up’ to seek a higher position of responsibility at the Federal level. He also explained that he did not at any time communicate a letter of resignation to the state chairman of the APC as stipulated by the party constitution and only opted verbally for his deputy to stand in as publicity secretary.

Hon Okey Ezeala revealed on the programme that senior party officials prevailed on him to rescind his decision to leave his position in the party. According to Hon Okey, his movement was a political permutation which he withdrew from as a loyal party man stemming on advice from elders of the All Progressives Congress Abia state chapter.

The APC spokesman noted that the party was satisfied with his performance on the job and thus preferred to have him remain as publicity secretary of the party in Abia state.

HON. Okey Ezeala cleared the air that all past intra party differences in the APC Abia state chapter has been resolved putting the party on a strong footing to contest the governorship position and all other political offices in the state come 2023 general elections.
