Gregory University inducts 26 Medical Doctors

Urges Inductees to be good Ambassadors of Institution

Twenty Six new Medical Doctors have been inducted at the 2nd induction/ Swearing in ceremony of graduating medical Doctors of Gregory University Uturu.


Speaking at the ceremony held on Friday at Aguiyi Ironsi Conference Centre Umuahia, Founder of the institution Prof. Gregory Ibe, charged the new inductees to be good ambassadors wherever they find themselves as the institution has all it takes to train Medical Doctors to compete favorably with their counterparts all over the world.


Prof Ibe who spoke through the Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration, Prof Uwaoma Uche, congratulated them for their dedication and patience of going through the training which qualified them for the induction.

In her address, the Vice Chancellor of Gregory University, Prof Cele Njoku, reminded the inductees that the Medical Profession do not only demands technical skills and knowledge but also compassion, integrity and an unwavering commitment to the well-being of others.

She said the world of Medicine is changing rapidly, driven by advancements in technology and research and urged the graduands to remain adaptable, continue to seek knowledge and embrace the challenges and opportunities before them.

Speaking before administering the Oarth and swearing the new Doctors, The Registrar, Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria Dr Fatima Kyari, charged the new Doctors to always practice in accordance with the rules and ethics of the Profession as any breach would attract sanctions.


Dr Kyari, represented by the Deputy Registrar, Dr Victor Kolawole Gberu, pointed out that the reason why Nigerian Doctors are in high demand within and outside the Country was because of the quality training they receive, and therefore urged them to raise the banner of the sacrifice and quality service delivery of the Profession wherever they practice.

Speaking on behalf of other graduands, the best Graduating student Dr Ogaranya Peace, expressed joy for witnessing the day after several years of struggle, and thanked God and her parents for seeing her through.
