Etigwe Uwa sends New Year wishes to Abians, calls for more support for Otti

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria Mr. Etigwe Uwa has extended warm wishes of a happy and prosperous New Year to the people of Abia as he prayed for 2024 to bring joy, fulfillment, peace, security, and prosperity.

Uwa in a New Year statement made available to newsmen said 2023 was undoubtedly, a challenging year owing to issues like harmonization of the exchange rate, increase in fuel prices which he said caused the cost of basic necessities to skyrocket, making life for the common man miserable, amongst other issues.

The Senior Advocate of Nigeria maintained that the security situation in the zone and other parts of the country continues to be a cause for concern adding however, that the 2023 elections ushered in a new government which has demonstrated a very strong commitment to the development of Abia state stressing that there has been progressive governance in several critical areas of development in the state.

He noted that though the expectations were high, Abians should support and encourage the new administration, giving its officials time to perform.

The Senior Advocate of Nigeria however said the government must recognize that as citizens, the people will continue to hold them accountable through constructive criticism and the offering of alternative solutions to the state’s problems.

Ndi Abia, I extend warm wishes of a happy and prosperous New Year to all of you. May 2024 bring us joy, fulfillment, peace, security, and prosperity.

Undoubtedly, 2023 was a challenging year. The harmonization of the exchange rate and the increase in fuel prices caused the cost of basic necessities to skyrocket, making life for the common man miserable.

The security situation in our zone and other parts of the country continues to be a cause for concern. Fortunately, the 2023 elections ushered in a new government which has demonstrated a very strong commitment to the development of our dear state.

We have observed and continue to observe progressive governance in several critical areas of development for which we are thankful. Our prayers are with the government of His Excellency Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR that they will stay the course and bring rapid development and prosperity to our state and its people.

The expectations are high, and we pray that the requisite strength and wisdom needed to accomplish these tasks will not be lacking.

I encourage all Abians to support and encourage the new administration, giving its officials time to perform. However, the government must recognize that as citizens, we will continue to hold them accountable through constructive criticism and the offering of alternative solutions to the state’s problems.
