Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North/South Federal Constituency Hon. Sam Onuigbo has described the Easter season; the occasion of the commemoration of the resurrection of Christ as a concrete reminder to all of the selflessness of love, the power of forgiveness, and the hopes of a fresh start.

In his Easter message, Rep. Onuigbo stated that one of the greatest acts of love recorded in history was God’s gift of Christ to the world.

He noted that Christ would go on to display an even bigger show of love by laying down His life as payment for our sins, so that we can have a fresh start with God.

One of the greatest acts of love recorded in history was God’s gift of Christ to our world. Christ would go on to display an even bigger show of love by laying down His life as payment for our sins, so that we can have a fresh start with God. As the Bible records in John 15:13, “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.”

The occasion of the commemoration of the resurrection of Christ therefore is a concrete reminder to all of us of the selflessness of love, the power of forgiveness, and the hopes of a fresh start. These are virtues needed in our country Nigeria at this critical point in time when we seem to be bedeviled by so many cracks and divisions in our polity. This year’s Easter celebration and its message therefore could not have come at a more appropriate time.

As we celebrate Easter today, may the guiding principles of Easter frame our actions and plans for the immediate future.

On behalf of myself and my family, I wish the good people of great Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency, Abians, Nigerians, and the entire Christian community a very happy Easter celebration.
