The Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency Hon. Sam Onuigbo has expressed sadness over the death of the Gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party PDP Professor Uche Ikonne.

Onuigbo in a statement he personally signed said Professor Ikonne’s death could not have come at a more unfortunate period.

Below is the statement 👇👇👇

I received with sadness the news of the death of Professor Uche Eleazar Ikonne, Abia State Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and former Vice Chancellor of the Abia State University, Uturu.

Professor Ikonne’s death could not have come at a more unfortunate period.

Yet, we are consoled by the fact that during his time on earth, Prof. made invaluable contributions to not only the academic field, but also to Abia State. Our dear state indeed lost an invaluable son.

On behalf of myself, my family, and the good people of great Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency, I commiserate with the Uche Ikonne family, the entire Ikonne family, the Abia State Government, the Peoples Democratic Party, and all Abians. May God give us the strength to bear this huge loss.
