Court to deliver judgement on committal proceeding suit filed by revenue firm Chicotas against Aba South Mayor, LGA
The Managing Director of Chicotas Nig. Ltd, a revenue Consulting firm based in Aba Hon. Uchendu Ahuruonye, has called on the Aba South Local Government and its current Mayor Hon Anyanwu Arinze Obilor to heed to voice of reasoning and cease the flagrant and consistent disobedience to court judgments which has repeatedly authenticated the right of his company to collect revenue for the Aba South LGA.
Speaking to newsmen, ahead of the committal proceeding case against the Mayor Hon. Obilor and the Aba South LGA coming up on Friday, the 5th of December 2025 at the Abia State High court, Umuahia, before the Chief Judge of Abia State, the Chicotas MD wondered why Hon. Obilor has refused to obey several court injunctions and order which went in favour of Chicotas Nig. Ltd, stressing that government is a continuum, and that citizens are bound to obey the law vis-à-vis the order of a court of competent jurisdiction.

Recall that in 2014, Chicotas Nig. Ltd entered into a contract with Aba South LGA wherein, it was mutually agreed by both parties that the Chicotas Nig. Ltd would be the contractor to recover revenue for Aba South L. G A for a period of one year.
The Chicotas MD had earlier told newsmen how the company at the time exhibited uncommon capacity by coming to the rescue of the Council in addressing its financial short falls, leading to Chicotas incurring huge debts to the tune of 42 million naira, which he said has remained unpaid till date.
He further narrated that after the signing of the contract, the leadership of Aba South and its successive regimes have neither allowed CHICOTAS to perform the contract nor refunded him the monies owed to the company, which he said left the revenue consulting firm with no other option than to sue the Aba South LGA for breach of contract/agreement.
Ahuruonye said Judgment was finally delivered against Aba South Local Government mandating it to specifically allow CHICOTAS to carry out the contract for the time in question without interference, since the Council could not make refunds.
The committal proceeding coming up on the 5th of December 2025 at the state High Court will present yet another anticipated judgment that both parties are expected to obey.
