Charles Ogbonnaya bombs LP caucus, ‘you are incompetent, ignorant for attacking Ben Kalu’

A chieftain of All Progressive Congress ( APC) and key promoters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ‘s reelection in Abia, Chief Charles Ogbonnaya has dismissed Labour Party members of House of Representatives from the State as incompetent and ignorant politicians .

He said their failure to understand the dynamics of politics was responsible for what he described as their recent misguided attacks on the Deputy Speaker of House of Representatives, Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu.

The LP caucus had criticised the Deputy Speaker for his declaration that APC will take over power in Abia in 2027 and his submission that Gov Alex Otti should learn to acknowledge the financial empowerment from President Tinubu.

” The first question I have for these so-called reps caucus is : What was wrong in what the Hon Deputy Speaker said? Is he no longer entitled to his opinion? When did speaking the truth become an offence?”

Charles Ogbonnaya, who is the Evulogu Ibeku, regretted that instead of initiating bills at the House of Representatives for the benefit of their constituents, the caucus members are grovelling before Alex Otti for crumbs from the master’s table.

He said that unlike the Reps and their governor who belong to two different parties at the same time, LP and ZLP, Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu belongs to only APC and is therefore bound to defend the interest of the party.

According to him, because party politics is a struggle for power, a good party man must work for the overall interest of his political party.

” The Deputy Speaker belongs to APC, and he is canvassing support for APC. When Otti was in the opposition, did he not campaign for the triumph of Labour Party over the ruling PDP? He asked.

Ogbonnaya, a two time Commissioner in Abia State, noted that only ignorance, incompetence, and sycophantic ranting would have led the rep members to condemn Kalu for campaigning for Tinubu and the APC.

He noted that the irony of the whole saga is that Otti is yet to extend developmental projects to the constituencies of the rep members, who even depend on Kalu to make a case for them to have federal presence.

He recalled that it was because of their nonchalant attitude towards their constituencies that they no longer care and ask questions and seek for their welfare.

He accused them of selling off the palliatives they received from the Mr. President which was meant for the poor people. “We have not forgotten the palliatives which you sold in the open market thereby denying the people from benefiting. At the appropriate time, you will be called to account for it.”

He declared that only an ingrate will fail to acknowledge that the economic reforms of the Tinubu’s administration were responsible for the improved cash flow accelerating the development projects across the states, including Abia.

” I ask again. Why is the truth so bitter? Is it not obvious that what Kalu said is the truth. Unlike them that are in LP and ZLP, the deputy speaker is only in APC and is not ashamed to defend the party and its leader, Tinubu”, he submitted.

He noted that “since the Rep members have abandoned their jobs in Abuja to play what he calls “houseboys for Alex Otti”, the electorate should take note so as not to elevate them above their mental capacity in 2027″.
