BREAKING: Kidnapped ABSU DVC Prof Emezue released

Unconfirmed reports reaching Dailytrailnews have it that the Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration of the Abia State University Prof Godwin Emezue has been released after spending 11days in the hands of his Kidnappers.

Prof Godwin Emezue who was kidnapped on Friday 26th January 2024 inside a fueling Station in Umuahia and whisked away by his Kidnappers was said to have been released on Tuesday Night after a ransom of 25 Million naira was paid by his Family which was a condition for his release by his Kidnappers.

It was gathered that the kidnappers had demanded a ransom of 35 Million naira from his family,they however threatened to kill him after the family pleaded with a cash of 5 million Naira.

The Kidnappers who had reportedly shown footages of how they tortured the Professor threatened to kill him if the family fails to pay 20 million naira before the end of Saturday, the traumatized family rallied and raised the money which they gave in cash to the Kidnappers who issued warning against involving Security agencies.

According to the report, his kidnappers however demanded an additional 5 Million naira, claiming that they had instructions to Kill him but may not want to do that for the New Year, the family with the Support of his Friends and Abia State University raised the money which was sent again to the Kidnappers.

The Academic Don was released Tuesday night and he currently Hospitalized in an undisclosed Hospital due to Torture.
