Ibeku High School Old Students Association (IHOSA) ’94 set rewards exceptional students of Alma Mater with Academic Excellence Award
Excellence they say attracts reward, no wonder the historic outing embarked upon by Ibeku high School Old Students Association (IHOSA) 1994 set on the 12th of December 2025 which saw different levels of recognition bestowed on deserving students of the institution, the Alma Mater which for decades has produced accomplished men and women in various fields and endevours of life.
The award event tagged ‘honouring brilliance, celebrating impact”, saw the convergence of alumni of the ‘94 set of Ibeku high School who gave back to their Alma Mater by rewarding exceptional students who have exhibited excellence in character and learning, as well as skills and talent. One of the talents that came to bare to the cheers of the crowd was the rendition of a song by one of the Old Students ’94 set Don Cecils titled ‘Never Mind”, a performance the students did with so much finesse and passion.


One of the students, Enwerem Chibueze Peter, SS2 class and the winner of the ‘Never Mind” music rendition competition explained his understanding of the song, as he expressed hope that his dream to become a renowned musician will come to fulfillment one day.

Also speaking, another student who participated in the performance Daniel Precious Onyenyechi further explained the import of the song, stressing that the song is full of meaningful message, and that the singer did a great job. She attributed the successes to quality education adding that education is not scam.

Speaking earlier, the Vice President of IHOSA 94 set, Odochi Vivian Okoro, the Deputy Director College of Nursing Amachara, encouraged the student never to mind their perceived small beginning, stressing that the end will justify the means. She further taught the students some relevant health tips.

Also speaking earlier, the Principal of Ibeku High School Obioma Udemba thanked the ’94 set for organizing what he described as one of a kind event to reward excellence, as he called on the students to emulate their example.

Commenting on the reason behind his decision to reward the students, the Never Mind Crooner Don Cecils who also has to his credit other songs including happy Mood, I’m Africa, amongst others has this to say.

Dailytrailnews reports that the event was witnessed by Mr. James Igwe Onuoha the immediate past National president of (IHOSA), as well as other members of the old students association, including many staffs of the school.
