Atiku promises revival of Abia Dry Port Project

The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has said his administration would set aside $10m to improve the ease of doing business in Abia State if elected president noting that it would serve them better to vote for a party that is capable of winning the election.

Atiku says if elected, his administration would set aside a $10 billion fund to promote business in the south-east as he promised to rebuild the Eastern rail line and Aba-Ikot Ekpene road to enhance the transportation of goods and services within the state.

Abubakar who spoke in Umuahia, Abia State capital on Saturday during the PDP presidential campaign in the state solicited the votes of Abia people promised to ensure that the Abia dry port project becomes operational.

The PDP National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, asked Abia people to vote out the ruling All Progressive Congress for causing what he described as untold hardship in the country as he called on the people of the South-East to support the party and take her rightful place in the governance of Nigeria.

The PDP chairman in the state Alwell Okere, assured Abubakar that the votes of Abia residents were intact for him.

The PDP governorship candidate in the state, Chief Okey Ahiwe, said political observers would be shocked by the number of votes that the PDP would garner in Abia State.
